PUNJAB GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES HOLIDAY FOR LUDHIANA MUNICIPAL CORPORATION ELECTION AND BY-ELECTIONS

LUDHIANA MUNICIPAL CORPORATION

Chandigarh, February 22:

In the wake of Ludhiana Municipal Corporation election and By-elections of certain wards of Municipal Corporation/Municipal Councils/Nagar Panchayat, the Punjab Government has declared a holiday on February 24, 2018 (Saturday) in the concerned voting precinct. This holiday will be under the Negotiable Instruments Act-1881.

Revealing this here today, an official spokesman said that any official/employee who is the listed voter of the above-noted voting areas but working at some other place, can also avail the holiday for casting his vote on 24 February (Saturday) by showing his relevant documents to the concerned authority and this holiday will not be deducted from the leave account of the concerned official/employee.

The spokesman further said that a notification in this regard has been already issued by the Punjab Government.
