ACS Tourism Reviews Arrangements of 34th Surajkund Mela

Additional Chief Secretary Tourism and Civil Aviation R.D. Dhiman today held a meeting with officers of the Tourism Department to review the arrangements of 34th Surajkund International Crafts Mela, scheduled from 1st to 16th February 2020 at Surajkund, Haryana, in which Himachal Pradesh is participating as a ‘Theme State‘.

He also visited the Mela ground and inspected the traditional Himachali style main gates, replica of Bhimakali Temple Sarahan, Apna Ghar and stalls made for artisans of handicrafts and handlooms.

He said that this craft mela would provide a platform to showcase the products and cuisines of Himachal Pradesh and would boost the tourism potential of the state. He said that culture troupes of Himachal Pradesh would also perform during the 16 days long fair, highlighting the rich culture of the state. He said that the entire Surajkund mela ground was given Himachali look. He said that an information centre has also been setup in the ground for facilitating the tourists and visitors.

Director Tourism Yunus and other senior officers of the department were also present on the occasion.
