AAI TO CONDUCT SURVEY FOR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AT MANDI

AIRPORT AT MANDI

SHIMLA 03 May:

As a result of perseverant efforts of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, a team of Airport Authority of India (AAI) will visit Mandi on 7 May, 2018 to conduct a survey for construction of an international airport at Mandi. A delegation of AAI officers met the Chief Minister at New Delhi today.

The team will visit the proposed sites at Ner Dhangu in Balh subdivision, Gogradhar in Padar and Mobiseri in Gohar Subdivision along with some other sites for conducting pre-feasibility report. Deputy Commissioner, Mandi will coordinate with the team.

The Chief Minister had vigorously pursued this matter with the Prime Minister and Civil Aviation Minister during his previous visits to Delhi.

He asked the officers to conduct the survey and expedite the progress so that international airport can come up in Mandi at the earliest.

Additional Chief Secretary Tourism and Civil Aviation Manisha Nanda was also present in the meeting.
