Shimla, 15 May:
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today addressed a public meeting at Ani in Kullu district in favour of BJP candidate Ram Swaroop Sharma from Mandi Parliamentary constituency. He said that the people of the country have decided to give command of the country to a strong leadership and completely repudiate the forced coalition of the Opposition parties in this Lok Sabha election.
He said that despite ruling the country for many decades, the Congress party completely failed to make any development and it looted the country through scandals involving crores of rupees. It was after the formation of Modi government that people actually realised that the nation is treading ahead on the path of development without any discrimination.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the Congress party has nothing to do with the interests of the nation but for sake of getting power, it can go to any limit including compromising with the national security which is quite clear form its election manifesto. However, the people are wise enough and they know which is party is their good wisher and can give s strong leadership.
The Chief Minister said that the Modi government has started various welfare schemes which have benefited every section of the society and enabling people to live with self-respect and dignity.
Referring to the development of Himachal Pradesh in the present state government’s tenure, he said that various welfare schemes have been initiated and in the coming years, the state would emerge as a role model where everyone will have equal opportunities for development. He added that the state government’s policies and programmes are focused on socio-economic uplift of the common man and it is a matter of great contentment that these policies and programmes have started to show positive results.
He urged the people of the area to ensure victory of the BJP candidate with huge margin to strengthen the hands of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister in forming a strong government at the centre.
Later, the Chief Minister addressed another election rally at Janjehli in Seraj constituency of Mandi district which was followed by a roadshow which was participated by thousands of people.
Around 200 families left the Congress party and joined the BJP on this occasion. The Chief Minister welcomed them to the BJP and assured that they will be given due respect in the party.
