CM directs officers to restore all essential facilities in the state

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while presiding over the meeting with the senior officers of the State Government at Vidhan Sabha Complex Dharamshala to review the situation arisen due to snowfall in the State, directed the officers to ensure that all the essential services in the State affected due to snowfall in the State be restored immediately.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the Public Works Department must ensure that all the major roads closed due to snow be opened immediately so that the people does not face inconvenience. He said that adequate men and machinery must be deployed in important roads closed due to snow. He said that preference must be given to clear those roads which lead to essential services such as hospitals so that the patients does not face any hardship.

Chief Minister also directed the officers of State Electricity Board to ensure restoration of power supply at the earliest to ensure power supply. He said that since various modes of communications depend on power, it was important that the power supply disrupted in areas which had witnessed heavy snow be resorted immediately. He said that the BSNL authorities should also ensure that their services be restored at the earliest so that the people does not face any inconvenience in communication.

Jai Ram Thakur said that snowfall also affects water supply, thus the Irrigation and Public Health authorities must take steps to ensure uninterrupted water supply. He said that adequate stock of pipes be maintained so that the damaged water supply pipe be replaced immediately.

He said that all the Deputy Commissioners must issue advisory to the tourists and general public to avoid trekking to higher reaches and also for carefully plying their vehicles on snow covered roads.

Chief Secretary Dr Shrikant Baldi assured the Chief Minister that the best possible efforts would be made to ensure restoration of essentials services in the State. He said that all the departments have been asked to ensure effective coordination at various levels for fast restoration of essential services.

Principal Secretary MPP and Power Prabodh Saxena, Principal Secretary PWD J.C.Sharma, Principal Secretary Revenue Onkar Sharma,  Director General of Police S.R.Mardi,  Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sanjay Kundu, Secretary IPH Dr. R.N.Batta, Secretary GAD Devesh Kumar,  MD HPSEBLtd J.P.Kalta, Engineer in Chief IPH Naveen Puri, ENC PWD R.K. Verma, Principal Private Secretary to the Chief Minister Vinay Singh Director Information and Public Relations Harbans Singh Brascon, were present in the meeting among others.
