While presiding over the prize distribution function of Mini Marathon organised by the Himachal Pradesh Secretariat Services Sports Control Board here today, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur thanked the employees and officers of the Secretariat for organising the marathon on the occasion of his birthday. He said that the extra-curricular activities not only prove relaxing for the employees from their day-to-day activities.
Chief Minister said that the employees and officers of the State Secretariat play a vital role in ensuring effective implementation of policies and programmes of the State Government. He said that during the two years tenure of the State Government, the employees of the State have played a crucial role.
Jai Ram Thakur said that State Government has launched various innovative schemes for empowerment of women and added that tangible results were coming after implementation of these schemes.
Earlier, Chief Minister also released the book ‘Kadam va Kadam Jai Ram Thakur’ written by Dr. Inder Singh Thakur and Smt. Savita Thakur.
Chief Minister also launched State PDS Ration Card Portability and Fortified Wheat Flour Scheme of the State Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department for the consumers of the State. With the launch of this scheme, the consumers would be able to purchase essential commodities from any fair price shop in the State. In addition to this, the fortified wheat flour would be provided to the consumers which would have all essential nutrients such as iron, folic acid and vitamin B12.
Secretary Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Dr. R.N. Batta, General Secretary, H.P. Secretariat Services Sports Control Board Rajesh Sharma and other office-bearers of the Board were also present on the occasion.
