FOR EMPANELMENT

Chandigarh, June 16:

The Social Security Department, Punjab, has invited applications from the coaching institutions with proven credentials in coaching for recruitment examinations such as those conducted by UPSC/SSC, Railways, Banks and PSUs for Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ besides engineering entrance exams such as IIT-JEE and CAT, NEET & CLAT. The process has been undertaken for the purpose of empanelment under a scheme of free coaching for students with disabilities of the Department of Empowerment, Government of India.

Disclosing this, the Social Security, Women and Child Welfare Minister, Punjab, Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary said that the institute should be a registered body or run by an organization registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860/Companies Act, 2013 or any other relevant act of the State/UT. The institute should also have been registered for a period of atleast 3 years as on the date of empanelment with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities , Government of India and must have been fully functional for a period of minimum 3 years at the time of applying under the scheme and having a minimum enrolment of 100 students in the courses each year for atleast 2 years. The institute must have an appropriate infrastructure which is friendly to the needs of the persons with the disabilities.

Besides this, the empanelled institutes would provide free coaching to students with benchmark disabilities and the cost of this coaching would be borne by Government of India. This would help the students to achieve their dreams.

Adding more, the minister said that the application form and the guidelines are available on website www.disabilityaffairs.gov.in. The application form should be submitted before 30th June, 2018 to the Director, Department Social Security, Women and Child Development, Punjab, SCO 102-103, Sector 34A, Chandigarh.
