HEALTH MINISTER MADE A SURPRISE VISIT TO REGIONAL AYURVEDA HOSPITAL

Vacancies of specialist doctors will be filled up soon in Regional Ayurveda Hospital Shimla: Vipin Parmar

Keeping in view increasing influx of patients for special medical treatment like Ksharasutra and Panchkarma in Regional Ayurveda Hospital Shimla the matter of filling vacant posts of specialist doctors will be raised with the Chief Minister. This was stated by Health and Family Welfare and Ayurveda Minister Vipin Singh Parmar in a meeting with the hospital administration after a surprise inspection of Regional Ayurveda Hospital. He said people come from far and wide to this hospital for Panchkarma and Ksharasutra.

The Ayurveda Minister said facilities are available for various types of tests in the hospital laboratory. He said alternative arrangements are being made from Paprola to meet out a shortage of lab technicians so that there was no inconvenience to patients. He also asked the doctors to start conducting thyroid tests and its treatment in the hospital.

Parmar said that 200 doctors in Ayurveda are being recruited shortly, so that doctors in most of the hospitals were available. Apart from this, 250 Ayurvedic pharmacists have recently been filled up and given posting in rural areas. He said that 262 Allopathy and 56 Dental Officers have been filled up, while 200 more doctors are being recruited. He said the process of appointment of 2000 Para Medical Staff is at the final stage. During the last four months, promotions have been given to thousands of employees in different categories in the department.

It was apprised in the meeting that the Regional Hospital has about 50000 OPDs and 10 thousand IPDs annually, whereas more than 4,800 patients were treated with Panchkarma. He asked doctors to organize multipurpose health camps in the rural areas of the state so that people can get information about the facilities being given in the hospital.

Director Ayurveda Dr. Sanjeev Bhatnagar, OSD Dr. K.K. Sharma were also present on the occasion.
