State gets sanctioned Rs. 1800 crore projects for tourism development: CM

Gadagusaini area to be developed from eco-tourism point of view

SHIMLA 23 June:

The State Government was laying special emphasis on providing quality infrastructure in all existing educational and health institutions of the State. Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur stated this while addressing a public meeting at Gadagusaini after laying the foundation stone of Science Lab Building of Government Senior Secondary School Gadagusaini to be constructed at a cost of Rs 1.57 crore.

Chief Minister said that soon after assuming the office, the State Government gave impetus to welfare and developmental schemes for the welfare of every section of the society. He said that during the five month tenure of the present State Government, several schemes were initiated in the State. He said that Rs 1800 crore project had been sanctioned by the Union Government for tourism development of the State. He said that efforts would be made to develop lesser known area of the State from tourism point of view. He said that Gadagusaini area would be developed from eco-tourism point of view.

Shri Jai Ram Thakur said that the people of Mandi district were grateful to Prime Minister Shri Narindra Modi and BJP National Party President Shri Amit Shah for giving a representative of Mandi to head the Government in the State. He urged the people to give wholehearted support the Government so the development of the area and the State could be expedited. He said that the State Government in its first budget has started 30 new schemes for the welfare and development of the State.

Shri Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government has provided its State helicopter to facilitate the tourists as it was plying from Shimla to Chandigarh and back three days a week. He said that the Government has also made a provision of Rs 50 crore for tourism sector. He said that the Government has made a provision of Rs 5 crore for Degree College Gadaguisaini.

Chief Minister announced upgradation of one middle school to high school and two primary schools to middle schools of the area. He also announced Rs 2 lakh each for 10 mahila mandals of the area for construction of mahila mandal bhawans.  He announced Rs 20 lakh each for three panchayats for construction of roads. He also announced Rs 5 lakh each for two roads of the area. He announced plying of buses between Mandi to Ghaat and from Banjar-Garagushaini-Chatri-Shimla.  He also announced drinking water supply scheme for the area. He also announced that a PWD Rest House would be constructed at Garagusaini. He announced upgradation of PHC Garagusaini to CHC.

Chief Minister visited Bhoomasi Devta temple at Gadagusaini and performed Pooja there.

He also addressed the people at Bagrathach and said that the State Government was committed for balanced development of the State with special focus of those areas which have remain neglected in matter of development. He said an inspection hut would be constructed at Bagrathach.

Several social, political, cultural organizations, Mahila and Yuvak Mandals contributed towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

Forest and Transport Minister Shri Govind Thakur said the State Government was endeavoring to make Himachal Pradesh a favorite tourist destination of the State. He said that the immense potential needed to be harnessed judiciously with minimum impact on environment. He also urged the people to make aforestation a mass movement to increase green cover of the State.

Member of Parliament Shri Ram Swaroop Sharma said that the long cherished dream of people of region has been fulfilled with Shri Jai Ram Thakur as the Chief Minister of the State. He said that the Union Government has approved projects worth about Rs 4500 crore for the State which speaks the best coordination between the centre and the State.

MLA Banjar Shri Surender Shourie said that the area has immense tourism potential and urged the Chief Minister to fully harness this potential.  He also urged the Chief Minister to ply Banjar-Gadagushani-Chatri-Shimla bus service to facilitate the people of the area.

Siraj BJP Mandal President Shri Sher Singh welcomed the Chief Minister and others present on the occasion. He also detailed various developmental demands of the area.

Shalini Agnihotri, Director Higher Education Dr. Amar Dev were present on the occasion among others.
