KISHAN KAPOOR DEMANDS RELEASE OF PENDING SUBSIDY TO HP

SHIMLA 23 March:

Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Kishan Kapoor today held meeting with Union Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan and urged him to release the pending Rs. 35.99 crore to Himachal Pradesh as a subsidy under public distribution system. He also requested for enhancing the time period of PDS project in the State till 31 March 2019.

Keeping in view the tough geographical conditions of the State, Shri Kapoor urged for increasing the kerosene quota of the State so that it could be provided to the consumers upto the far-flung areas of the State.

He also demanded the construction of more go-downs in the state for storage of food grains and releasing the quota of wheat under Annapurna Scheme.

The Union Minister assured that the pending subsidy amount would be soon released to the state and the matter would be taken up with the Union Petroleum Ministry for enhancing the kerosene oil quota.
