CHANDIGARH, MAY 02:
The Government agencies and private traders have procured total 11741347 tonnes of Wheat in Punjab till May 01, 2018 against 11166046 tonnes on the same day last year.
Official Spokesman of Punjab Government said that out of total procurement of 11741347 tonnes of wheat in all the procurement centers of Punjab, the Government agencies procured 11695810 tonnes of wheat (99.7%) whereas 45537 tonnes (0.4%) of wheat has been procured by traders.
He said that PUNGRAIN had procured 2698525 tonnes (23.0%), MARKFED procured 2591714 tonnes (22.1%). PUNSUP procured 2275072 tonnes (19.4%), Punjab State Warehousing Corporation (PSWC) procured 1606480 tonnes (13.7%) and Punjab Agro Food Corporation (PAFC) had procured 1165164 tonnes (9.9%) of wheat. The Central Government agency FCI had procured 1358855 tonnes (11.6%).
State Government has lifted 7934411 tonnes wheat from the mandies till 01.05.2018.
