Chief Minister inaugurates building of office of the Advocate General

CM announces  Rs. 7 lakh from discretionary fund towards Bar Association Welfare Fund

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today inaugurated the building of office of the Advocate General near H.P. High Court.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister said that this Rs. 8.5 crore seven stroyed building would go a long way in providing best working environment to employees of Advocate General office and thereby increase their efficiency and dedication in delivering day to day activities.

Jai Ram Thakur said that this office also represents the State Government in the Hon’ble High Court. He said that judiciary was playing a vital role in providing time-bound justice to the people particularly those from the weaker and vulnerable sections of the society.

Chief Justice HP High Court Justice L. Narayana Swami said that it was his first public function after assuming the office of Chief Justice of HP High Court. He said that Advocate General’s office was a bridge between the Government and the Court.

Advocate General Ashok Sharma said that this building would help the Office of Advocate General ineffective functioning. He said that the Advocate General office would soon shift towards e-filing.

Additional Advocate General Ajay Vaidya presented vote of thanks.

Education and Law Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Judges of HP High Court, Chief Whip Narender Bragta, Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Trilok Jamwal, Mayor, Shimla Municipal Corporation Kusum Sadret, Chief Secretary Dr. Shrikant Baldi, Additional Chief Secretary Anil Khachi, Engineer-in-Chief PWD  R. K. Verma, Chief Engineer, PWD Lalit Bhushan Sharma, Additional Advocate Generals, Deputy Advocate Generals, Senior advocates were present on the occasion.

Earlier, the Chief Minister while addressing the members of the HP Bar Association announced Rs. 7 lakh from his discretionary fund towards the HP Bar Association Welfare Fund.

Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj also spoke on the occasion.

President of Bar Association Nareshwar Singh Chandel detailed about various activities of the Association.

Advocated General Ashok Sharma presented vote of thanks.

Chief Whip Narender Bragta, Former Advocate General Sarwan Dogra, members of Bar Association, senior advocates were present on the occasion among others.
