Wheat procurement in the Haryana has surpassed last year’s level. A total of 81.49 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of wheat has been procured by the state agencies till now against 74.25 lakh MT last year.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said that while state agencies have procured over 81.49 lakh metric tonnes, the traders have procured 485 metric tonnes.

Giving details of the wheat procured by government agencies, he said that over 32.80 lakh metric tonnes has been procured by Haryana State Co-operative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (HAFED), whereas Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department has purchased more than 24.50 lakh metric tonnes of wheat. He said that Food Corporation of India has purchased over 9.81 lakh metric tonnes of wheat and Haryana Warehousing Corporation has purchased over 14.35 lakh metric tonnes of wheat.

The spokesman said that district Sirsa was leading in wheat arrival where over 10.84 lakh metric tonnes of the crop had been procured followed by district Karnal, which recorded more than 8.77 lakh metric tonnes of wheat arrival. Similarly, over 7.25 lakh metric tonnes of wheat have been procured in Jind, over 6.92 lakh metric tonnes in Kaithal, over 6.80 lakh metric tonnes in Fatehabad, over 5.77 lakh metric tonnes in Kurukshetra, over 5.30 lakh metric tonnes in Hisar, over 4.65 lakh metric tonnes in Sonipat, over 3.84 lakh metric tonnes in Palwal, over 3.18 lakh metric tonnes in Yamunanagar, over 3.15 lakh metric tonnes in Ambala, over 3.13 lakh metric tonnes in Panipat, over 2.74 lakh metric tonnes in Bhiwani, over 2.70 lakh metric tonnes in Rohtak, over 1.79 lakh metric tonnes in Jhajjar, over 1.25 lakh metric tonnes in Faridabad, over 1.01 lakh metric tonnes in Mewat, 71,120 metric tonnes in Gurugram, 60,802 metric tonnes in Rewari, 54,512 metric tonnes in Narnaul and 47,437 metric tonnes in Panchkula.
