• EXHORTS YOUNG WRESTLER TO GO FOR GOLD IN TOKYO 2020

CHANDIGARH, MARCH 9:

The Cultural Affairs and Tourism Minister, Punjab, Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu yesterday late evening felicitated Asian Championship Gold Medal-winning wrestler Navjot Kaur when she called on him at his residence. Terming her as the role model for the youth of Punjab especially young girls the minister said that her win would set off a chain reaction which would see the scores of youth taking up sports as a career thus propelling the country towards being a force to be reckoned with in sporting arena.

Mr. Sidhu exhorted Navjot Kaur to stay focused and concentrate all her energies on winning Gold in 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Navjot Kaur on her part assured the minister that she would prepare with more hard work and earnestness than before and would leave no stone unturned to come up to the expectations from her.

Mr. Sidhu on this occasion honoured Navjot Kaur with a shawl and a momento. On the occasion, Navjot Kaur’s father Mr. Sukhchain Singh and sister Mrs. Navjit Kaur, MLA Dr. Raj Kumar Verka, Wrestler Padam Shri Kartar Singh and Wrestling Coach Mr. Gurcharan Singh Dhillon were also present.
